Regarding YourSpace

Bear with me, I'm going to make a big list of links to a lot of people, including family, friends, acquaintances, and even a few people who probably don't remember me. There is a point to this discussion, which will come later and which I will mark for your convenience if you want to skip the inane listing. Also, do not click the links unless you are really curious. Some of these MySpace pages have so much junk on them your computer will absolutely choke.

Inane listing begins.

So it turns out that everyone uses MySpace.

Three-Card Monte

So, seven weeks into law school. If you read my "Prima Facie" post, you know that my first impressions were not entirely positive. Now that I'm settling into a routine, are things improving? Does it get better? Is there hope for pre-law undergraduates?

I believe the operative phrase here is, "Lasciate ogne speranza, voi ch'intrate." That's Dante, the words emblazoned on the gates of Hell. The translation is, "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here."

Vista v. Ubuntu (plus Beryl)

It's "placement break," which means I have no classes this week. I finished most of my homework first thing. So, finding myself with a bit of (shock!) free time, I downloaded a copy of Windows Vista RC1 and secured a trial key. I'm no Microsoft fan, but what can I say, the hype over Aero Glass finally penetrated my practiced cynicism. I chose the 64-bit version to match my processor.

Law School, Prima Facie

So one of the purposes for this blog is for me to write about law school. I never wanted to come to law school. Let's get that out of the way up front; this is not the culmination of a lifelong dream. My reasons were largely unarticulated. In many ways they remain so.

Three Cheers for Blogging

Over a year ago, I taught myself some CSS and put up a personal webpage for the first time since 1999. I put up some writing samples and overall I think it does a nice job. But in these crazy days of Blogspot and Myspace, hand-scripting HTML whenever I want to update my page with a little rant or what have you just seemed… primitive. I’m a law student, not a web programmer, or I might feel a lot worse about making use of a software package like Wordpress. But I do consider myself tech-savvy (read: snobbish geek) and I do have my own TLD.
